Jason Kreis impresses on Sunday's MLSSoccer.com playoff pregame show

The former New York City gaffer joined Russ Thaler, Thomas Rongen, and Jennifer Williams on MLS's live-streaming program.

MONDAY UPDATE:

Jason Kreis sounded like an attractive MLS managerial candidate on Sunday.

Check out the thirty-minute video, in which Kreis and former U.S. Soccer youth coach Thomas Rongen break down everything the Red Bulls needed to do (and didn't) in order to strike back and reach the Cup Finals. It's especially interesting, in light of his dismissal from New York City, to hear Kreis praising the organizational coherence at Red Bull instilled by Ali Curtis and Jesse Marsch.

The boys ended the broadcast (streamcast?) by letting Kreis pick his own Best XI of the season. Here's where he ended up:

GK: Luis Robles (Red Bulls)

DEF: Nat Borchers (Portland), Matt Hedges (FC Dallas), Kendall Waston (Vancouver), Laurent Ciman (Montreal)

MID: Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto), Kaka (Orlando City), Sacha Kljestan (Red Bulls), Dax McCarty (Red Bulls)

FWD: Kei Kamara (Columbus), Robbie Keane (Los Angeles)

Interesting that Kreis not only included official MLS Best XI player Dax McCarty, but also his Red Bulls teammate Sacha Kljestan. It's quite telling that the former New York City gaffer sees the specific value of a couple of intelligent, hard-working midfielders, as his team lacked anyone with that type of skill set this season. Is it a surprise that NYCFC finished 8th in the East? Really?

...

So, anyone looking for a coach?

MLSSoccer.com is coming at you with a live-streaming preview show today at 4:30 p.m. ET. And Jason Kreis will join the show as a guest commentator! Remember him? Consider the former NYCFC manager the roasted marshmallows to Rachel Bonnetta's sweet potato casserole.

Or, hey, maybe you aren't crazy about that particular dish! That's fine. How about this-- Jason Kreis is like dark meat. It's totally worth-while, but folks don't seem to want to give it a fair chance.

The live preview show will launch AT THIS LINK HEY CLICK HERE beginning at 4:30.
