Report: Andrea Pirlo to NYCFC following Champions League final

The rumblings continue! When they've subsided, New York CIty FC may finally have its third designated player.

While we will only believe that Frank Lampard is a real-live NYCFC player once he's logged an actual minute for the team -- ditto for Pirlo, because we've all been burned by City Football Group before -- today's report from Spanish outlet A.S. could be the smoke that leads to fire

The Americanese version: Pirlo will play his last game with Juventus on Saturday, when they face Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Final in Berlin. The midfielder appears to have made it clear that he will accept the deal offered to him by New York City FC, as brokered by City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano.

While NBC, Fox Sports, and MLS are among those who have run with today's report, all outlets are linking to the original A.S. story. Until we can triangulate the signal with more data, Hudson River Blue isn't ready to call this anything other than an as-yet-unconfirmed report.

But, as unconfirmed reports go, this one is a doozy.
