Surprise!
On the strength of 23 goals and a terrific run through the 2016 regular season slate, NYCFC captain David Villa was named today as one of three finalists for the Landon Donovan MVP award.

Villa is New York City FC’s first and only full-time captain, and boasts 41 goals in 63 regular season games dating back to last year.
His English is really coming along, too. Is there anything el Guaje can’t do? Downhill skiing? Gemstone appraisal? Spearfishing? Reliable Linux tech support? I wouldn’t count him out of a single one.
