David Villa’s MVP nomination wasn’t the only plaudit for the NYCFC family today.
Patrick Vieira (Coach of the Year), Frank Lampard (Comeback Player of the Year), and Jack Harrison (Rookie of the Year) are all in the running for MLS’s end-of-season honors.
The four total nods for New York City FC are the most in the league this year.
Vieira is up against Colorado’s Pablo Mastroeni and Oscar Pareja of FC Dallas for top gaffer. Harrison squares off for rookie honors with Keegan Rosenberry (Philadelphia Union) and Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders).
Comeback Player of the Year, which seeks to honor a high-achieving player who has overcome an injury or diversity, pits Lampard against Philadelphia’s Chris Pontius and Orlando City’s Kevin Molino.
Good luck, boys!
