Major League Soccer revealed the full slate of home openers for the 2017 regular season today, with New York City FC making its debut on the road for the third year running.
The Bronx Blues will return to central Florida at 5pm ET on Sunday, March 5th, to take on Orlando City, their first-ever regular season opponent from back in 2015. They’ll be the inaugural visitors to Orlando City Stadium as the Jason Kreis’s Lions embark on their first year in MLS away from the old, gray confines of Camping World Stadium.*
*(But everyone knows it’s really called the Citrus Bowl. I mean, come on.)
The following Sunday, March 12th, marks NYCFC’s triumphant return to Yankee Stadium to take on DC United.
The proper MLS season opener will open on a Friday night, as league newbies Minnesota United visit Providence Park for a crack at the Portland Timbers on March 3rd.
