Frank Lampard wins MLS Player of the Week, nominated for MLS Player of the Month for July

When Frank James Lampard made his 2016 debut to a chorus of boo-birds on May 21st's Red Bull Wedding, things pretty much felt like they could only get better from there. I mean, how could they have been any worse?

Well, fast-forward to five weeks later, and Phat Phranq is on top of the MLS world.

With eight goals in his last eight games -- including six in six during the month of July -- New York City FC's famous Number Eight is your reigning MLS Player of the Week, and one of five nominees for Player of the Month.

He faces off against Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco, Orlando City's Kevin Molino, Jake Gleeson of Portland, and LA Galaxy's Jelle Van Damme.
