Well, that’s nice for a change. New York City dominated the first half in today’s Hudson River Derby, and their play was rewarded in the 33rd minute with an exquisite goal by Jack Harrison.

We’re at halftime now, with the Blues leading 1-0. New York City’s been hammering the Red Bulls on the right side, and that’s what led to the goal. Michael Amir Murillo was frozen by Rodney Wallace, and left back Ben Sweat delivered a pinpoint cross into the box. Tyler Adams gave Harrison all kinds of time and space on the ball -- and when you do that, Harrison’s going to bring the pain.
But that’s not all — right before the half ended, Yangel Herrera nearly made it 2-0.

We’ll see what adjustments take place in the second half, but it’s clear that New York City straight dominated the first half.
