GOLD CUP 2017: USMNT vs. Panama time, TV schedule, & streaming

We are told that group play in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup actually opened yesterday. Rodney Wallace and Costa Rica apparently defeated Honduras, while Canada had its way with French Guiana, which is actually in South America.

For so many reasons, this is fake news.

Group play actually begins today, because America.

New York City FC goalkeeper Sean Johnson may well spend the entire Gold Cup tournament gathering a dignified layer of dust on Bruce Arena’s bench behind the radically mediocre Brad Guzan and the quite really good Bill Hamid. But that’s our guy— it’s a feather in his cap to be back among the Stars & Stripes.

On the other side, Panama features three players currently plying their trade in Major League Soccer, to include NYCFC loanee Miguel Camargo. That’s pretty cool.
