New York City FC depth chart update

With a slew of new signings, it’s time to update the depth chart.

Since the last depth chart update, New York City FC has made the Jesus Medina signing official, while also signing Cedric Hountondji and Ismael Tajouri.

Medina is a dynamic left winger with an eye for goal who will slot into the starting lineup right away. The 20-year-old Paraguayan international heads to New York from Club Libertad as NYCFC’s first “Young Designated Player.”

As long as NYCFC doesn’t sell or trade one of their starting center backs, Hountondji will slide in as the main backup and provide some much needed depth at the position. Should Maxime Chanot or Alexander Callens get injured, Hountondji would likely be the first man off the bench. Hountondji — French-born and a Benin international — joins NYCFC from Gazelec Ajaccio in Ligue 2.

Tajouri is a pacy right winger who will push Jack Harrison to be better. He comes from the Austrian Bundesliga, where he played for FK Austria Wien.

With the new additions, here is what NYCFC’s depth chart might look like:
