Maxi Moralez and Jo Inge Berget to miss match against DC United

Bad news on the injury front for NYCFC...

According to Blue City Radio, New York City FC manager Domé Torrent has ruled both Maxi Moralez and Jo Inge Berget ineligible for Sunday’s match with D.C. United.

While Torrent reportedly confirmed that both absences would be because of injury, he would not specify what injuries the two key players sustained.

Obviously, Maxi is vitally important to NYCFC’s midfield and attack. And though Berget has been largely hot and cold all season, a player of his unique physical skill set could be handy against a red-hot DCU side that is fresh off a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC on Wednesday.

Say what you want about him, but Berget has not been a perennial starter this season. Moralez, on the other hand, absolutely is so replacing him will not be an easy task. Obviously, fans like me would insist Torrent stay as far away from Eloi Amagat as possible. But if past experience is anything to go by, the former Girona midfielder is very likely to get the call this Sunday.
