New York City FC have announced that Joe Scally — the club’s latest Homegrown Player and youngest player on the roster — has been called up to the United State U-17 national team ahead of the Young Yanks’ friendlies with England, Brazil, and Russia. Also joining him are NYCFC youth players Andres Jasson and Tayvon Gray.

Congrats to Andres Jasson, Tayvon Gray, and Joseph Scally on getting the call to take on @England, @CBF_Futebol, and @TeamRussia in U-17 International Youth Tournament across Shropshire and Chester, England pic.twitter.com/cz1Q5NIaVv
Combined with the senior team, NYCFC currently has 11 players that have been chosen for international duty in the midst of this three-week break.
For Scally, this isn’t the first time he’s been on the national team radar. The 15-year-old right back was previously selected for the USMNT’s U-15 team last year and was quickly promoted to the U-17 team after accumulating five caps and a goal.
We here at Hudson River Blue wish Scally, Jasson, and Gray the best of luck and congratulate them on the honor of representing your country against three really good nations. Give ‘em hell, kids!
