Eloi Amagat has apparently left NYCFC

Some good news at last!

MLS: D.C. United at New York City FC Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Eloi Amagat has been the source of nightmares for me. Ever since his arrival, the former Girona midfielder has contributed absolutely nothing to New York City FC apart from being sent off in the first half of his very first game against the New York Red Bulls back in August. That is literally it. No goals. No assists. A red card. What makes it even worse is that, during his tenure, Amagat was making $240K, which is in the same ballpark as actual contributors like Sean Johnson and Ronald Matarrita.

Fortunately, that nightmare has seemingly come to a close.

Ismael Tajouri-Shradi gave Amagat a parting thank you on his Instagram story yesterday — which was posted to NYCFC’s subreddit by u/Kshowbiz.

I’m sure Amagat is a nice guy who everyone likes to be around, who encourages his teammates, etc. Izzy’s parting words definitely seem to support that. However, I don’t think any NYCFC fan is gonna be losing any sleep over Eloi’s departure.

Happy trails, man.
