Despite not much transfer news to speak of at the moment, New York City FC fans finally have something to talk about as MLS announced the season and home openers for the 2019 season today. For NYCFC, the 2019 campaign kicks off in the Sunshine State against fellow 2015 expansion side Orlando City on March 2, 2019. Their home opener at Yankee Stadium comes the following Sunday on March 10 against the Wayne Rooney-led D.C. United.

Additionally, NYCFC will be Minnesota United’s first-ever opponent at the latter’s new Allianz Stadium on April 13.
March 2 will mark the third time Orlando and NYCFC have met in their season-opening game. The first came in 2015 when the two clubs played their first-ever MLS game against one another and once again in 2017 — the games ended in a 1-1 draw and a 1-0 win for Orlando respectively.
NYCFC’s game against DCU will mark Rooney’s first second trip to Yankee Stadium since joining the Black-and-Red’s last summer. Expect a large crowd of Manchester United fans eager to see their childhood hero take to the Etihad Pitch on that day.
Start marking your calendars, ladies and germs!
