Scally is the second-ever Homegrown Player signing behind James Sands who signed with the Blues last summer. According to Sporting Director Claudio Reyna, the Lake Grove, NY native primarily lines up as a right back, making him the de facto understudy to both Anton Tinnerholm and Saad Abdul-Salaam.
To allow him to finish his schooling, Scally will not be joining the first team for training until the summer.
We here at Hudson River Blue congratulate both Joe Scally and NYCFC on this landmark signing, and can’t wait to see our next Academy creation at work in the near future.
