“Knee-Jerk Reactions” is Hudson River Blue’s series of what we were thinking throughout the match. We’ll share our unfiltered thoughts on the game at hand — no editing, no revisions. Just raw, pure emotion.
Here were my reactions to New York City FC’s huge 4-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids:
First Half
1’: Ismael Tajouri-Shradi almost put us up there
3’: Wait, is Alex Ring really playing center back right now?
8’: This is a strange formation. I still don’t know where everyone is playing.
11’: Some beautiful attacking there
22’: IT’S DAVID VILLA DAY!!! 1-0
31’: City still in control of this one
35’: Alex Callens — Peruvian Pirlo confirmed?
45+2: Really good half from the boys. Would like to see a few more goals, though.
Second Half
49’: Ronald Matarrita is back! 2-0 NYC
56’: MAXI MORALEZ!!! The goals are flowing like wine!
60’: NYC might have a fourth goal in their pocket
66’: Medina almost banged one in. He could use a goal to get back into form
74’: Did I mention it was David Villa Day? 4-0
77’: Two awesome saves from Sean Johnson. And we got a T-Mac sighting!
88’: Game has slowed down late. Both teams have accepted the result
Thank you for reading my mid-game ramblings. See you all next week!
