Ever since it became clear Arsene Wenger was out as the manager of Arsenal, there’s been an emerging groundswell of rumors and reports regarding Patrick Vieira and interest for him to coach overseas. But after fans and media have combed through various rumors regarding Patrick Vieira and the uncertainty of how long he’d remain to coach New York City FC, and now it seems there may finally be an answer.
Hearing Vieira will train NYCFC once more tomorrow before leaving for Nice. Will ask for confirmation from Vieira post-training #NYCFC

Not only would it appear Vieira has agreed to become the new manager for Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, it seemed he could be leaving as soon as this week. But, as it sometimes turns out, looks can be deceiving. While things definitely seem to be moving fast, things are still unclear to put it mildly. Dylan Butler — a contributor to both ProSoccerUSA and MLS’s official website — has also tweeted that NYCFC have made no official comments as of right now, and even Vieira himself is denying any talk of negotiations with the French club.
In addition, Christian Araos from the Athletic included more comments from Vieira:
“It made me smile because of course there is no contract being signed or anything like that. That is wrong information... I really enjoy being part of the football club and I’m focused on our next game.”
“I can’t control anything that’s going in France or in England or anywhere else. I have a relationship with the people at this football club and we’ve always been clear with each other. For me that is the most important.”
Citing personal reasons for his trip to France, Vieira maintains he is not on his way out, but rather is just as committed to coaching New York City FC as he ever has been.
