Despite not having played with New York City FC thus far this season, the young James Sands has continued to impress for the United States at the youth level.
The 18-year-old defender/midfielder contributed to both an 8-0 clean sheet over Kazakhstan, in addition to scoring in a 2-1 win over Ukraine. These victories have propelled the USMNT U-19’s into the semi-final of the Slovakia Cup against the Czech Republic.
Another won.

Obviously, fans would like to see Sands take to the Eithad Pitch at Yankee Stadium soon. But it’s still nice to see that that our wunderkind is making waves somewhere.
Good job, James! Hope to see you sooner rather than later.
