WATCH: New York City compete against Manchester City in skill games

The two sister clubs duke it out in some friendly competition

MLS: New York City FC at Orlando City SC Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

New York City FC taking on (much bigger) sister club Manchester City isn’t a new concept. In 2015, NYCFC’s David Villa, Khiry Shelton, and Mix Diskerud ‘battled’ with Man City’s Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, and Martin Demichelis in a series of competitions that included football tennis, a target challenge, and shooting a ball into the trunk of a taxi cab among others. Ironically enough, both Villa and Aguero are the sole remaining members from that competition to still be on their respective teams.

Now, three years later, the Bronx Blues and the City Blues meet again.

A Manchester City team of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Brahim Diaz, Claudio Bravo, and Lukas Nmecha took on NYCFC’s Anton Tinnerholm, Brad Stuver, Jonathan Lewis, and Kwame Awuah.

Spoiler alert: Manchester City wins three out of the four competitions. But the real story is that Anton Tinnerholm wins the crossbar challenge for New York.

That’s a scoreline I can live with! For now, at least.
