It’s kind of shitty being a New York City FC fan right now. The team is out of the playoffs, we still don’t have a stadium... man, it all sucks!
But at least something NYCFC related is encouraging.
NYCFC right back Joe Scally — who was signed to a Homegrown Player contract early last year — started for the USMNT U-17’s in their opening matchup for the U-17 World Cup against Senegal.
Overlapping down the right flank, Scally whipped in a cracking cross to Sporting Kansas City’s Gianluca Busio who met the ball with his head and put it past Senegal’s keeper to give the Baby Yanks an early 1-0 lead.

Unfortunately, that’d be the only bright spot of the US’s day as Senegal would go on to win in a one-sided 4-1 contest.
God, even our good news has its downsides these days. Oh well.
