New York City FC announced today that they will take part in the 2020 edition of the Florida Cup in Orlando starting on January 15, 2020. NYCFC will face Brazilian powerhouses Corinthians and Palmerias. The tournament will be hosted at Exploria Stadium, the home of NYCFC’s expansion cousin, Orlando City SC.

NYCFC’s preseason will begin on January 11 and their first game of the Florida Cup will be against Corinthians at 6:00 pm on January 15. Three days later, NYCFC will match up against Palmerias at 2:00 pm.

The Florida Cup was started in 2015 and has played host to many great European and South American teams like Ajax and River Plate. The tournament will be a great warm up for City, who will be taking their first trip into unknown waters with the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League. Still with no coach appointed and question marks regarding the roster, the countdown has begun until City’s preseason begins in only 52 days.
