The wait is over. Héber — New York City FC’s newest signing — has reported to his first training session with the club and has begun to acclimate to his new club.

Earlier today, NYCFC released a video showing Héber arriving to the club’s training facility. The documentation shows the Brazilian meeting club director Claudio Reyna, manager Domé Torrent (get him out now!), his new teammates, and even engaging in some Portuguese with Keaton Parks.

The video also reveals something else: the kit number he will be wearing this season. Any guess as to what that number might be? You guessed it...

Around the 4:07 mark, kitman Danny Laroche puts Héber’s training shirt a device that presses numbers and text onto the top. And as fate would have it, Héber was given the good ole’ No. 9.

Since his arrival, NYCFC have been adamant that Héber’s role within the team is indeed that of a center forward. And giving him the number most closely associated with the striker position is a statement that this hasn’t changed.

Given the fact that the Brazilian has arrived a week ahead of City’s next game against the Montreal Impact, fans should expect Héber to be ready to make his debut at Yankee Stadium on April 6.
