“[Insert random unattainable thing here] before NYCFC gets a stadium” has become somewhat of a running joke among New York City FC supporters. Hell, we’ve also dabbled in the self-deprecating humor from time to time.
But something quite amusing happened today. And it has nothing to do with City’s long-awaited, much anticipated stadium. Well, it kinda does. But not really.
Earlier this afternoon, NYCFC announced Troy Press (no, I don’t know “who’s mans”) as their “stadium host” for the 2019 season.

When I first was scrolling past this post, I thought for a second that New York City had made a new signing right under our noses. I mean, a striker named Troy Press? Sounds like a marketing dream to me!
But alas, NYCFC is still without a No. 9 for the foreseeable future. We got a guy with a microphone though! So, you know, get excited... or something.
Shoutout to Alex from the Cooligans, though!
