Fans may still be buzzing from New York City FC’s 2-0 win over D.C. United on Sunday. Unfortunately, that performance came with a price as it was announced today that Alexandru Mitrita is listed as questionable ahead of tomorrow’s match against the Chicago Fire at home after sustaining an ankle injury in the first half of the DCU game.

Mitrita joins Ismael Tajouri-Shradi on the injury list, who missed Sunday’s with an ankle injury of his own. That is both of NYCFC’s top goalscorers nursing injuries, making them unlikely to play on a Wednesday with another game against Orlando City waiting in the wings on Saturday.
There is good news, though: Taty Castellanos has recovered from his concussion and has been lifted from the injury list, making him available for tomorrow’s game. Taty is coming off of the best game — last week’s 3-3 draw against Minnesota United in which he scored and logged an assist — since joining NYCFC last summer.
