Things have gone pretty well for former New York City FC players Frank Lampard and Jack Harrison. Lampard — who was named head coach for Derby County prior to this season — has taken the Rams to heights they haven’t seen in quite a while, while Harrison has been a regular for Leeds United on loan from Manchester City.
Over the past two weeks, the two’s respective teams have faced off in a double-leg playoff to see who will face Aston Villa in the Championship Final. Leeds fired the first salvo last week in a 1-0 win on the road, in which the sole goal was assisted by none other than Jack Harrison on a gorgeous, curved through ball across the box.
But it would be Derby who had the last laugh as earlier today, the Rams traveled to Elland Road and outlasted the Peacocks in a 4-2 classic.
While seeing Lampard makes headlines in England isn’t at all new, Harrison coming so close to reaching a final at Wembley is awesome and speaks to his quality. And we NYCFC fans can hold the claim that no matter where he goes from here, we had the privilege of seeing him first.
IT'S ALL OVER!

We wish both Jackie Boy and Lamps the best of luck in the future and look forward to possibly seeing the latter coach in the Premier League next season.
