NYCFC at full-strength following two-week layoff

MLS: New York City FC at Minnesota United FC David Berding-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in what feels like forever, New York City FC is without any injuries.

The team announced today that — after a two-week layoff — NYCFC has been given a clean bill of health ahead of tomorrow’s afternoon matchup against the Chicago Fire in the Windy City.

What this means is that City’s newest DP Alexandru Mitrita is available for selection tomorrow against Chicago. Mitri’s return should be embraced as he has shown prowess in the attack both in the starting lineup and off the bench.

Ronald Matarrita — though he did start against the Montreal Impact two weeks ago — has been lifted completely from the list, as has Ebenezer Ofori who missed the game in Quebec.

Having a full team at their disposal should definitely be of relief to NYCFC as they prepare to begin righting the wrongs from earlier this season and embark upon what is sure to be a hectic summer.
