Recent reports indicate that longtime Roma midfielder former World Cup winner Danielle De Rossi has his eye on MLS; more specifically, New York City FC which once employed his longtime La Nazionale teammate Andrea Pirlo.
This isn’t the first time NYCFC have tried to lure De Rossi away from Serie A. The club reportedly made an offer for the Roma defensive midfield stalwart in 2017, but was turned away, But this time, there seem’s to be a bit more meat to the story as De Rossi has formally announced that we won’t be resigning with Roma after 18 years, leaving his services ripe for the picking without the need for a sizable transfer fee.
So here’s what we’re gonna do: we’re gonna ask you, the reader, whether or not it’d be smart for NYCFC to put De Rossi in the famous Etihad kit this summer. After the poll closes next Tuesday, we will provide a follow-up article with our own opinions.
