Alexandru Mitrita and Ronald Matarrita remain questionable

The injury list isn’t looking too hot right now

MLS: Montreal Impact at New York City FC Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this week, it was revealed that James Sands had suffered a pulled abductor muscle, leaving his availability for tomorrow’s match against the Montreal Impact in question. If that wasn’t bad enough, two other key players might be forced to watch from the sidelines on Saturday.

New York City FC announced earlier today that both Alexandru Mitrita and Ronald Matarrita remain questionable for the second straight week.

Mitrita — NYCFC’s newest DP — was listed as questionable last week against weekend against Orlando City, but still made an appearance in the second half. So, if that is anything to go by, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the bench or even starting against Montreal.

Matarrita, however, has been unavailable since sustaining a calf injury in the first half against the Chicago Fire last Wednesday. The Costa Rican left back has struggled with injury over the past few seasons, and we hope he has a quick recovery and is back playing wing back before no time.
