We’ve already had the disaster that was New York City FC’s quarterfinal exit from the U.S. Open Cup earlier this week. And if you expected for the reinforcements to come this weekend and provide some relief to the team’s tired personnel, think again.
NYCFC announced earlier today that both Alexandru Mitrita and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi will be inactive tomorrow against the New York Red Bulls. James Sands also remains out with an arm injury.

Héber returned from injury against Orlando City this week, but it remains unknown how match fit he is after being out of action for several weeks. Tony Rocha has also been made active, but I doubt he can make much of a difference on this one to begin with. Joe Scally remains out, but that is a relative non-factor considering the 16-year-old defender has yet to log a minute this season in any competition.
Mirita and Tajouri-Shradi have both been key players for NYCFC this season and have combined for 8 goals and 3 assists thus far in 2019.
