It’s been several months since we last saw star HGP James Sands take the field. The American defender/midfielder was having himself an amazing season before sustaining a broken arm against FC Cincinnati last month, which has kept him out ever since.
Alexandru Mitrita is also expected back in some capacity. New York City FC’s newest Designated Player has shown shades of brilliance this year, but has largely struggled to stuff the stat sheet with either goals or assists.
Manager Domé Torrent has said that Sands should be available for selection, with Mitrita being able to do a “short stint” against the Colorado Rapids this Saturday.

It appears that Ismael Tajouri-Shradi will miss at least one more game before returning to the club.
