Taty Castellanos and Maxi Moralez make MLS Team of the Week!

The Argentine Connection are giving high honors for their performances against the Philadelphia Union

In New York City FC’s big 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, there were two players in particular who had undeniably the most significant effect on the proceedings — they are Taty Castellanos and Maxi Moralez.

Both had their hand in all four of their team’s goals. For the first two, Castellanos drew fouls in the box which Maxi would eventually take (and sink). And for the latter two, the diminutive playmaker would assist Taty, giving both Argentinians a brace against the Union who are currently the best team in the Eastern Conference on paper.

For their efforts, MLS named both players to this week’s Team of the Week. Moralez was singled out for his performance, earning the league’s highest Audi Player Index points.

Maxi getting the highest index of the two might be the source of debate. But regardless, NYCFC’s triumph doesn’t work without either him or Taty have the performances they did. So let’s call it a toss-up that Maxi won this week.

Congrats, boys! Keep up the good work.
