Last month, it was reported that Malmo midfielder Anders Christiansen was being pursued by New York City FC to add depth to the club’s midfield. Unfortunately, that target might have slipped through the Blues’ fingers.
Earlier today, Swedish tabloid Expressen reported that the club’s bid for Christansen seems to have fallen through.
According to Expressen, Malmo — the former club of fan favorite Anton Tinnerholm — was offered 17 million krona (roughly $1.8 million) from NYCFC for Christiansen, a bid that was accepted. Since then, it seems negotiations have fallen through with City reportedly “moving on to other options.”
These other options have yet to be announced, though I’m sure we’ll hear something of them in the near future should any of them become serious.
