NYCFC could be without three key players against Portland

MLS: FC Cincinnati at New York City FC Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

How this has happened, I have no idea. But somehow, New York City FC could be without Alexandru Mitrita, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, and Jesus Medina against the Portland Timbers on Sunday.

Manager Domé Torrent told the media today that the three key attackers are currently “questionable” for Sunday’s matchup, pending the results of tests that will be conducted this afternoon.

I just... I can’t!

All three players participated in Wednesday’s 3-0 win against the Seattle Sounders, with only Jesus Medina making an impact on the proceedings. Tajouri-Shradi appeared out of sorts in the dying moments of the first half. But Mitrita never seemed to be a step behind physically, even if he did struggle to make his mark.

Hopefully, the three players are match fit moving forward, considering that the team is already missing star striker Héber and new signing Gary Mackay-Steven isn’t eligible to play until after July 9.
