Maxi Moralez wins MLS Player of the Month

City’s playmaker finally gets his due

MLS: Philadelphia Union at New York City FC Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Maxi Moralez had quite the month in June. In three league games, the diminutive playmaker amassed three goals and six assists and led New York City FC to a 2-0-1 (W-L-D) record in that span.

Throughout his two-and-a-half seasons in the league, Moralez has quietly been one of the best players in the league and key cog in NYCFC’s midfield. And finally, he’s getting the props he deserves.

Earlier today, the league announced that Maxi had won MLS Player of the Month for June.

Along with the accolade, Maxi Moralez also receives a special MLS POTM card in FIFA 19, that you can earn in Ultimate Team by doing the required Squad Builder Challenge. A guide to how to finish the SBC — which is only about 19k to complete — can be found here.

Thus far in 2019, Moralez has amassed 6 goals and 11 assists — the latter stat being good for second best in the league. An MVP-caliber season in the making for sure.
