Taty Castellanos questionable against the Red Bulls

The rising star could miss Saturday’s derby due to illness

Taty Castellanos has been one of the fastest rising stars for New York City FC in the team’s 2019 campaign. In 22 games this season, the young Argentinian has netted 10 goals — including his game-winning tally on Wednesday against Columbus Crew SC — and has also logged 5 assists en route to becoming one of the most key players for the Boys in Blue.

Unfortunately, NYCFC might have to do without the young center forward on Saturday against the rival New York Red Bulls. On the team’s latest injury report, Castellanos is listed as questionable due to what the club says is a cold.

While Castellanos’ is day-to-day, midfielder Ebenezer Ofori has been upgraded from inactive to questionable ahead of the Hudson River Derby. While I and everyone else fully expects to see Keaton Parks get the start, it’s very possible we could see Ofori come off the bench if his knee injury mends in a satisfactory way.

No changes have been made to winger Ismael Tajouri-Shradi’s status as he is still inactive with an ankle injury, and both Joe Scally and James Sands are likely to miss the remainder of the season with a hip injury and a collarbone injury respectively.
