It’s been quite the week for supporters of New York City FC. Not only is the club just one point behind first place in the Eastern Conference with a game in hand, but they thoroughly dispatched of the rival New York Red Bulls to get there.
In that game, several NYCFC players put in phenomenal shifts en route to victory. And MLS has singled out two in particular for their performances: Maxi Moralez and Alexander Callens.

Moralez scored the first goal in City’s 2-1 win over the Red Bulls and Callens displayed defensive prowess throughout. Also mentioned is right Anton Tinnerholm who assisted Héber on his winning goal. This brings NYCFC to a total of three player mentions this week, the highest of any other team.
On top of that, Domé Torrent was named MLS Coach of the Week for his tactical efforts against the Blues’ Jersey-based rivals.
What a week indeed!
