Recently, New York City FC has been dealing with the burden of several injuries to key players — namely DP playmaker Maxi Moralez, star forward Héber and defensive stalwart James Sands.
In these players’ absences, NYCFC has been able to secure results and continue their quest for best in the Eastern Conference. These results, however, have not come easily and have been decided in knock-down, drag-out battles.
But according to manager Domé Torrent, all three are expected back very soon.
In a training report posted by Glenn Crooks on Twitter, Torrent has gone on record to say that Moralez will be available this week against FC Dallas for at least a 60 minute shift. James Sands is expected to be back in about two weeks, while Héber’s recovery has been better than originally projected and could be back as soon as City’s final home game of the regular season against Atlanta United on September 25, pending an evaluation from his doctor.

Knowing that we’ll be getting back these players all before the playoffs is such a relief that I literally let out one of those good sighs when I first saw this.
Maxi, Héber, and the Sandman have all been integral to the Blues’ success this season and having them available for the games you absolutely need them for monumentally raises NYCFC’s chances of not only making a deep playoff run, but potentially winning silverware.
We at HRB look for to all of these returns and hope that no other setbacks occur.
