NYCFC without six players in potential Eastern Conference clinching game

City will have to face the Revolution without some key components

As of right now, New York City FC are firmly in the driver’s seat when it comes to the race for tops in the Eastern Conference. Because of their 4-1 win over Atlanta United on Wednesday, NYCFC can lock up first place in the East with either a win or draw against the New England Revolution tomorrow night regardless of how the Philadelphia Union fare against the Columbus Crew.

Unfortunately, for NYCFC to accomplish this historic feat, they will have to do it without the help of six key players. Yup — six!

According to their latest injury report, City will be without Keaton Parks, James Sands, and Anton Tinnerholm all due to injury. Additionally, Maxime Chanot, Taty Castellanos, and Alexander Ring are all facing suspensions due to yellow card accumulation.

Obviously, NYCFC has more depth than ever before and, in theory, should still be able to get the job against the Revs. But without this many players — most of them being starters — it’s sure to cause some anxiety among City fans. New England isn’t the nicest play to play, after all.
