Whether or not Maxi Moralez will be returning to New York City FC next season is still up in the air. But another important player definitely will.

The club has announced that star right back Anton Tinnerholm has signed a multi-year extension with NYCFC.

The details of this new deal have not been disclosed.

On signing a new deal, Tinnerholm expressed happiness with remaining with the team for the foreseeable future. “Extending my contract with NYCFC is the one thing I really wanted to do and it was a simple choice,” the Swedish right back told NYCFC.com. “Since the very first game last season, I’ve felt New York is the place to be and NYCFC is the Club to be at. When you’re enjoying your life and career so much, there’s been no doubt for me that I wanted to re-sign here.”

Since arriving to NYCFC prior to the 2018 season, Tinnerholm has consistently wow’d supporters with his incredible work rate, solid defensive work, and a flair for the dramatic goal from time to time.

And I’m stoked he’s staying here in the Bronx!
