FT: Palmeiras rally in the second half to edge out NYCFC 2-1.
This was a much better display than what we saw against Corinthians a few days ago. The first team plus some young stars really performed well in the first half. The reserves and Academy guys weren’t too shabby in the second half, either. Minus some mistakes, the game was competitive throughout.
74’: James Sands turns it over, Palmeiras capitalizes.
A bit sloppy from the typically in-form Sands. 2-1 Palmeiras.
70’: Nothing really going for NYCFC at the moment. Game has become more wide open with both teams reaching into their reserves. Lot more fouls.
56' Palmeiras' Willian puts the finishing touch on a deflected ball into the box. We're tied 1-1. #NYCFC

Second half has begun! Can NYCFC hold onto, and maybe even extend their lead?
HT: What a way to end the half! NYCFC leads 1-0!
Andres Jasson makes easy work of his marker before crossing the ball towards goal. Osaze De Rosario meets the ball and heads it home to give NYCFC the leading tally going into the half. What a play!

25 minutes in. Palmeiras controls the game. The early injury and subsequent substitution of Maxi Moralez has surely impacted City’s ability to build the attack. But, it’s still early.
16’: Spectacular defending from Chanot there! Great double-stop from the center back!
8’: Stuver makes a massive save! That was a dangerous from Palmeiras!
6' Maxi Moralez is subbed off early. Andres Jasson comes in #NYCFC

3’ NYCFC launches a good counter-attack, but Maxi’s shot goes wide and high. Not a bad start for City.
And we’re off in Orlando! NYCFC wear City Blue, Palmeiras wear green.

The story: January 15’s game against Corinthians served as a proving ground for New York City FC’s younger and more needing talent. This game, however, against Palmeiras will finally provide fans a peak at what is a majority of City’s first team.
Many of NYCFC’s heavy hitters feature in what should be a fun watch.
This post will update with highlights and information as we receive it.
