Yeah, this article is a bit of a short write-up. For more information, check out this article we did on Ronny Deila a few days ago.

You’ve heard the rumors. But now, it’s a rumor no more. This morning, New York City FC officially announced Ronny Deila as their new manager.

Deila signed a three-year contract and will join up with the club pending the result of an American work permit.

Coming into NYCFC, Deila has emphasized that he desires to play an attacking form of football. “I think I’m a very attacking coach, thinking always to score goals,” the Norwegian manager told “I’d rather win 5-4, than 1-0... but 1-0 is good as well. I think it’s important to cause the opponent problems; getting the overload from when you play from the back is important, and then take advantage of that, so you play three against two, two against one, on the sides, getting out the crosses, getting people inside the box.”
