FIFA 21 has officially launched worldwide. And predictably, people are scouring the online market for good players to jump start their Ultimate Team squads. And if you’re a New York City FC supporter and in need of a good midfielder, I have some good news for you!
EA have released their second Team of the Week squad for their latest football title. And City’s very own Alexander Ring is among the players who have been given a big upgrade.
Ring’s card — which thankfully lists him as a CM and next a left winger — is among the game’s most well-rounded cards in the early going. With 79 pace, 71 shooting, 75 passing, 80 dribbling, 77 defense and 82 physical, you can place the Ringleader anywhere in the midfield you see fit.
There are, of course, some caveats.
Ring is Finnish, severely limiting who he can link to. Additionally, he’s an MLS player making matters even more difficult. Of course, you can always use him in an MLS squad with the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Josef Martinez, and Carlos Vela. But be careful where everyone is placed. Major League Soccer isn’t a bastion of defensive prowess according to FIFA’s standards.
If you have the 10k to spare this early, Ring is more than worth it for your bench to bring on when you need a good box-to-box option to keeps things lively in the midfield in the dying minutes of those close games.
