New York City FC’s 5-3 win over AD San Carlos on Thursday definitely put fans on notice — this club has some serious offensive firepower. And among the leaders of that attack is none other than center forward Héber, whose hat trick in Costa Rica was the guiding force behind City’s impressive performance in Leg 1 of the CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16.
But fans of the Boys in Blue aren’t the only ones who’ve been put on noticed. So has CONCACAF at large.
For his Leg 1 exploits, Héber was named to the CCL’s Team of the Week earlier today!
The breakout Brazilian was the only NYCFC player, and one of only three MLS players to make the CCL TotW for Leg 1. The other two named were Montreal Impact goalkeeper Clement Diop and Atlanta United midfielder Gonzalo Martinez.
Congrats on the accolade, H9!
