The story: New York City FC couldn’t have hoped for more in their first leg against AD San Carlos. In the CONCACAF Champions League debut, the Boys in Blue traveled to Costa Rica and won 5-3 in a tournament where away goals are as precious as diamonds.

We’ve talked ad nauseam about how annoying it is that NYCFC is playing their home leg of the tie in their rival’s house. But City’s performance in Central America has given them an incredible chance to get through to the quarterfinals. Really, the only thing that would send them packing is a three-goal loss which I don’t think anyone would expect.

Obviously, weirder things have happened. But so long as NYCFC execute their game plan like they did last week and don’t fall asleep at the wheel, odds are this “home” leg will be nothing but a formality.

This post will update with highlights and information as we receive it.
