FT: NYCFC defeat Inter Miami 1-0 to collect their first MLS win of 2020!
It wasn’t pretty. And it might not even be enough to get them through to the knockout stages of the tournament. But three points is three points, and it’s good to get a win. The game’s lone goal came midway in the second half on a gorgeous ball from Mitri to Tajouri-Shradi who buried his chance with ease.
90’: Miami’s Agudelo is sent off for his second caution! They’ll be a man down for the final five minutes.
84’: Maxime Chanot with some great emergency defense there
79’: Double sub! Maxi Moralez and Gary Mackay-Steven come on for Mitrita and ITS, respectively.
72’: Keaton lets loose a good shot on net. Robles does well in fending it off.
67’: Keaton Parks comes on for Jesus Medina
This is City’s first of five allotted substitutions.
64’: GOAL!!!! Ismael Tajouri-Shradi buries a 1-v-1 to give City their first MLS lead in 2020!
Alexandru Mitrita plays an amazing ball in behind, over the top, from the middle of the park. ITS controls it with a sublime first touch, then buries it past Luis Robles. 1-0 City!
Let’s go!!!

First hydration break in the second half. And there is no sign of intelligent life anywhere.
55’: I guess City looks better? But still no good shots on target.
The second half is underway. Can we please get some goals now!? This team is a complete chore to watch.
NYCFC and Miami are scoreless after the first half.
City looks lifeless. No creativity. No liveliness. Just nothing good. Something needs to change now.
Five minutes of stoppage time. Plenty of time for a goal. Let’s go!
36’: James Sands takes a ball directly to his stomach. He’s up and about, but probably lost his wind there.
35’: SeanJohn makes another save. This game is extremely boring to watch right now.
26’: If ESPN could stop censoring the cussing, that’d be great. Let me hear those potty mouths!
Hydration break! Hopefully, Deila can inspire his offense to do something right now.
10’: Sean Johnson forced into a save from a Juan Agudelo a header! Still scoreless
9’: Taty takes a pop from distance. It sails over.
5’: I must admit — that was some good play under pressure from the back there for NYCFC. But they need goals. And fast.
We’re off in Disney World. Can NYCFC win this one and find some help to get into the next round?
