Only a few weeks removed from being linked to a move to Brazilian club Palmeiras, Taty Castellanos silenced all of the talk by signing a contract extension with New York City FC through the 2025 season. Taty’s new deal was announced by the club earlier this afternoon to the joy of supporters, and to the disdain of a few Palmeiras fans who were still hoping for the tide to turn.

“I’m very happy about this opportunity the Club is giving me,” Taty told NYCFC.com. “The people here have my back and help me to be a better person and player every day. I’m happy to keep developing my career with the Club.”
Predictably, Palmeiras fans are none too pleased about this news as they flooded Twitter to whine about it. Here are some of my favorites:
Poor Taty, having to stay on the team that can't even win a concacaf

Gotta love that humility, right?
I’m not typically one to boast or to stir the pot. But man, I’d be lying if I didn’t love a nice bit of schadenfreude once in a while. And salty sports fans are perfect fodder for that.
Delicious, indeed.
