POST THOSE GIF REACTIONS!!!!
81’: GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!!!! Taty ends the drought!
Wow. Just wow. So many goals.
Maxi puts a shot on goal that is parried by Gallese. But Taty pounces on the lose ball and easily guides it into the net to end a 9-game goal drought for him and add to the Bronx Goal Party. 5-0 NYCFC. Amazing!

79’: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAALLLLLLLL!!!! Malte Amundsen gets on the board!
Amundsen and Maxi link to brilliant effect. Malte plays the give-and-go to Maxi and makes his run. Maxi chips it over the defense where Malte taps it home! What a goal! What a night! I love you, New York!
4-0 NYCFC. Believe that.

65’: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAALLLL!!! It’s a goal party in the Bronx!
Thiago beats his man on the left and plays the ball into space for Taty Castellanos. Taty runs onto it, pulls Gallese out. and lays it off to Maxi Moralez who taps it home. 3-0 NYCFC!
63’: Taty almost makes it three! But still, the young Argentinian can’t find the net and remains cold.
56’: Moments after scoring, Tajouri-Shradi is brought off with an apparent leg injury. Thiago takes his place.
53’: GOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!! Make it two!
Ismael Tajouri-Shradi cuts onto his left foot after sizing up his mark and laces a beautiful shot on target. Gallese gets a touch on it, but it’s too hot as it’s buried top bins. 2-0 NYCFC!

49’: Huge save from Barraza! It seemed a sure goal for Orlando. But Luis made himself as big as possible and protected his near post. Big save there.
The second half is here! Can NYCFC improve upon their lead and put this one away?
HT: #NYCFC lead Orlando 1-0 at the half following Jesus Medina's team-leading 7th goal of the season. How are we feeling? GIF reactions only!

40’: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAALLLLL!!!! NYCFC gets their much-deserved goal!
Taty Castellanos holds up play and gets just enough of a touch on it to put it into the path of Jesus Medina. Medina laces one near post past Gallese and gets City a much needed, much deserved 1-0 advantage. Let’s gooooo!
GOAL!

Medina is on fire this season! He has given NYCFC the lead against Orlando City after 40 minutes.#MLSUK #NYCFC #NYCvORL pic.twitter.com/SbNKGI3btK
36’: NYCFC are given two great chances!
First, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi gets a point blank shot that is stopped by Gallese. Shortly after, Malte Amundsen sends in a ball after it trickles out. Taty Castellanos is there to meet it but it’s also saved.
Taty possibly had an argument for a penalty on a shirt pull. But it isn’t looked at.
30’: Getting towards the latter stages of the first half. Neither team has really broke out. NYCFC have controlled the pace of play but have only generated a couple of promising chances. City just needs to tighten up in the final third.
14’: First real chance of the game. Keaton Parks evades defenders while linking up with Ismael Tajouri-Shradi. Parks takes the open space down the right flank and crosses the ball towards Maxi Moralez at the far post. Maxi heads it, but it just sails wide.
We’re off in the Bronx! City needs to pull this one out!
Rosters are out! And for some reason, they’re in alphabetical order. Regardless, there are two changes to talk about.
Malte Amundsen returns to the starting lineup in place of Gudi Thorarinsson at left back. Keaton Parks also gets the start alongside Alfredo Morales in place of Cacha Acevedo. Interesting choice. But let’s see if it works out.

The story: Last time out against Orlando City, Jesus Medina had a golden opportunity to win the game for New York City FC. In a brilliant ball from over the top, Medina was virtually one-on-one with Orlando goalkeeper Pedro Gallese in second half stoppage time, but couldn’t direct the ball past the keeper. Despite Medina putting together a solid season by all accounts in 2021, this blunder still haunts fans.
But this time, the game won’t be played in the Sunshine State. For the first time in what feels like forever, NYCFC will host Orlando at Yankee Stadium where a raucous New York crowd will be behind them. City previously broke a two-game losing streak on Wednesday with a tidy 1-0 win over CF Montreal. Should they win tonight, they can move themselves into 5th place, three points behind 2nd place Nashville SC with a game in hand.
These two clubs know each other extremely well and it should be interesting to see how things play out on this warm Sunday evening in the Bronx.
This post will update with highlights and information as we receive it.
