Halftime Notes: NYCFC vs. Inter Miami

The biggest takeaways from the first half of action!

MLS: Inter Miami CF at New York City FC Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

New York City FC currently leads Inter Miami CF 2-0 after the first 45 minutes! Here are our takeaways!

  • Taty being Taty: I’ve never understood how someone can do so many things wrong while also doing so many things right. Taty might be wanting that 1-v-1 chance back, but he’s made up for it (so far) with his first-half brace which includes a header and a penalty.
  • Bend, Don’t Break: City’s defense hasn’t been phenomenal thus far and have conceded some strong chances to Miami. But as of right now, they’ve allowed no goals. If they tighten it up, it’s in the bag.
  • To the Maxi: Even if he isn’t great at penalties, Maxi Moralez is class as an attacking midfielder. The Little Genius has been pulling the strings exquisitely for NYCFC thus far and might be a dark horse for Man of the Match.
  • Keep Up the Pressure: The last time City had a 2-goal lead at half, they pissed it away in the first ten minutes of the second against Toronto FC. DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN! Keep the pressure up and grab as many goals as you can muster.
