NYCFC teammates to face off?
The draw for Group D put USA in the same group as Paraguay, Australia, and the winner of the Türkiye/Romania/Slovakia/Kosovo contest.
That could set up a match that will see New York City FC goalkeeper Matt Freese face teammate Aiden O'Neill when the United States plays Australia on Friday, June 19, at Lumen Field in Seattle.
Freese has emerged as United States head coach Mauricio Pochettino's choice for goalkeeper, while O'Neill is a write-his-name-in-Sharpie starter for Australia at central defensive midfield.
