Last year, we asked our readers what we could do to improve Hudson River Blue. The top response? Add a podcast.
It took us a minute, but we’re ready to start podding. We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Hudson River Blue Podcast, and that we are partnering with Bleav to send you the sweet sounds of John Baney and Mark Radigan discussing all things soccer.
New episodes will drop weekly and will bring a New York City point of view to what’s going on in the beautiful game. As you’d expect, New York City FC and Major League Soccer will take center stage. But we’ll also talk about fútbol from around the globe, from European giants, to upstart clubs in the Tri-State Area, to lower-league soccer across the continent.
In other words, anything is fair game as long as it at least tangentially involves a ball, a goal, and the possibility of a scoreless draw.
A couple of notes on the format:
• The HRB Podcast will be brief, and clock in at around 20 to 25 minutes per episode: We want to inform you, not drain your phone’s battery.
• Episodes will post on Thursdays, and will take stock of what’s happening that week while looking ahead to the weekend’s action.
• The language will be clean, just like on the website: This is a podcast you can play over the speakers and listen to with your kids/grandmother/spiritual adviser.
In other words, the levels will be good and the vibes will be strong. You wouldn’t expect anything less from John, Mark, and HRB.
Great news! HRB web articles have been excellent this year. Looking forward to the podcast.
Got a feed link yet at Apple, etc?
Soon!
Also, will the episodes be weekly throughout the calendar year? Or only during the MLS season?Any plans for occasional HRB player interviews (whether NYCFC or other NY focused clubs)? I think that would be interesting content, and something I’m not finding too much of on the other NYCFC podcasts I listen to anyway.
Well pod throughout the year with some time off for holidays. And yes, the show will include guests.
This is great. I’m looking forward to the episodes.
