The Brooklyn FC men's team will play the role of hosts when they take the field in their first-ever competitive game: Earlier today, it was announced that BKFC will face Indy Eleven on Sunday, March 8, at Maimonides Park in Coney Island to open their 2026 USL Championship season.

The rest of the 2026 schedule will be released on Tuesday, December 26.

Brooklyn have a lot to do between now and March. On Tuesday, the club announced hiring Marlon LeBlanc as head coach. The longtime Philadelphia Union II gaffer was most recently the United States U-18 coach, and he brings a long history of developing young players to the position. But the team have yet to announce signing a single player. That gives the organization a little more than four months to assemble a roster and get the players match-ready.

Originally, Brooklyn intended for the men's team to join USL-C in 2025. But last December, the club announced that the inaugural season would be delayed until 2026. In October, Brooklyn announced bringing on former Brian McBride as general manager. The former United States men's national team general manager and striker now oversees Brooklyn's men's and women's teams.

While the men's team look ahead to their 2026 debut, the women's team are almost halfway through their second season in the Gainbridge Super League. They currently sit in 7th Place, with 14 points after 14 games.
